I keep looking for an answer to this and never get one. When I paste a picture onto a blank canvas how could I resize it? There are no resize handles like you would see in Kolourpaint or MSpaint. I have even tried to go to IMAGE---->RESIZE IMAGE when I have the picture still selected with the "move selected pixels" tool. But all that does is just change the size of the entire canvas, as if I zoomed out. It's really annoying because I would like to manipulate the size of an image after I paste it, and it appears that I cannot.
