I'd like to see a UI element that displays both absolute and relative positioning of a selection box. For example, when I draw a rectangle selection box, I should be able to see the height and width of the box itself in addition to the absolute positioning of the corners within the overall canvas. Paint.NET displays this information in the status bar (which isn't in Pinta). Seashore.app displays a "DeltaX/DeltaY". Gimp displays it in the status bar during select and in the Rectangle Select tool window. This feature is great for people that do front-end web development that need to splice mockups or check on positioning and size of CSS sprite elements.

Here's a workaround I've found:
- Make your selection measurement as exactly as possible.
- Hit Ctrl-Shft-X and then Ctrl-R to crop and resize. The measurement of the rectangle will be shown in the Width and Height fields.
- Hit Esc and then Ctrl-Z to revert the crop.
I wonder what happened with the Google Summer of Code many months ago.

Pinta 1.6 was released March 1, 2015 and this feature is implemented in toolsbar the right-top site. Download Pinta from: http://pinta-project.com/releases
