Hello! First at all, Great Work! Pinta is Nice! I want suggest you a nice improvement for Pinta release: You could use the Art Libre Set icons. http://tango.freedesktop.org/ArtLibreSet These icons are great, homogeneous, are prooved to be clear and nice with clear and dark color desktop themes and there are a huge number of icons (You can use Gimp ones too). I suggest you consider to use the Art Libre Set icons. The application will be great enhanced whit them. Salu2 de jEsuSdA 8)

The Tango Icon Theme was changed to Public Domain time ago.
The Art Libre Set is part of Tango. ;)
My understanding is that Tango is Public Domain, but Art Libre is not. It is GPL, as it's home page says. If it documented somewhere official that Art Libre is Public Domain, then I would love to use it.
I am pretty sure an MIT app cannot use GPL art.

There is a difference between "use" and "embed in the binary" for what it's worth.

That pages says that these icons are GPL licensed. I'm not sure if jpobst would want this in a MIT license project.
