running Pinta on Debian distros isnt easy (LMDE, MX linux, etc). flatpaks and snaps are't really ideal. many people in the world still have slow internet connections and or pay per GB of data. Appimages can easily be copied from a USB stick to another computer; its not as straight forward with snaps and flatpaks.
