If i click on 'Edit' in iPhoto, I want Pinta to open the photo, so I can edit it. Also I would suggest to use the finder-design to browse through the photos for a better implementation of iPhoto

Testing with Pinta 2.0, Pinta does show up in the Edit menu for the macOS Photos app

I'm not a Mac user - does iPhoto allow editing with any applications that are registered to handle e.g. jpg files ? If that's the case, fixing https://bugs.launchpad.net/pinta/+bug/587640 will allow for that to work.
