Tried using this on Mint 18. Very slow response but can live with that for now. The real disappointment is the inability to select then paste then flip the patch on the same layer. The flip takes the whole layer with it. I prefer to use linux but still keep an XP machine on hand as MS Draw is still the best for small technical diagrams and drawings.
