How can i get right click to open a simple edit context menu. With actions like, copy, delete, paste, and other commonly used actions. Having to stop in the middle of a project and leave an area of focus and go all the way to the top, click edit and then click the desired action is quite frustrating and slows down progress. Is there a setting to enable this?. Im very new at operating this program thank you kindly.

thank you. I will possible try some keyboard shortcuts. I have some trouble with my wrists and use a micro keyboard and often a tablet to remotely operate my computer. is there any plans for right click support in the future? it seems like an intuitive interaction is just missing without it. paint.net also lacks this ability, gimp is great but its also almost so full featured in what its capable of that it makes my head spin and leaves me yelling at the machine over the more simple things like how to make a plain line or circle quick and easy. so for the time being I have been jumping my projects between programs depending on what I need at the time. and if im doing tons copy paste and cut paste type things I end up back on microsoft paint. this program is quite fantastic and is seeminly selling itself short on capability by leaving the right click button to be an idle thing without purpose. im always greatful for suggestions if there is any other paint type programs you use
The issue is that the right mouse button is already used by most of the tools to provide alternate functionality.
For example, if you are using the paint brush, paint bucket, or shapes, the right mouse button uses the secondary color instead of the primary color. If you are using the zoom tool the right mouse button zooms out instead of in. If you are using the "Move Selected" tool the right mouse button rotates the selection instead of moving it.
It isn't possible to have the right mouse button give both a context menu and do the rest of these things. The only thing that could really be offered would be a setting to disable the alternate functionality and give a context menu instead.
Ah thank you kindly.. i hadnt realized the right click was usable for those actions. I guess its give and take. Im quite used to right click opening context menus. As a possible alternative is the middle wheel click mapped to a lot of actions? If not it could be a good action for opening the quick access edit context menu.
EDIT. A link to all the keyboard shortcut keys would be greatly appreciated. For the time being im just going to use joytokey or similar keymapping software to assign the needed shortcut keys to a few of the free buttons on my mini keyboard.
I think https://www.pinta-project.com/user-guide/shortcuts/ has most of the general shortcuts

I don't think there is any right click support on the canvas, but you can use the typical shortcuts like Ctrl+C for copy, etc
