When editing photos I often want to crop a photo to a specific aspect ratio prior to sending to a printing service - eg. 6x4 (sml photo) - 10x8 etc. It would be useful if there was an option on the rectangle select tool to lock the aspect ratio.

Yeah, second that. Paint.NET has this feature... often very useful..!
