Currently, if you use a gradient, it is just applied then and there similar to the paintbrush without any way to adjust, move, and/or resize it. My suggestion is to instead make it more like when you're drawing a rectangle whereby, after drawing it, you can still adjust, move, and/or resize it. (this would also more closely match Paint.NET's behavior for drawing gradients)
