I often want to copy-paste a diagram from a PDF to Pinta and label it in the image with the URL of the PDF. So I Copy the URL from the browser, then in Pinta choose the Text tool, click in the image, and Paste which gives the error "Image cannot be pasted. The clipboard does not contain an image." I can see why, but its a real pain as often the URL is very long and tricky to type. There's lots of space on the Text toolbar to have a Value: textbox that you could type or paste text into, and then click in the image to place it.

Pinta 1.6 was released in March 1, 2015 and this is defenetly working. So copy text in text editor and then in Pinta click on Text object and click on canvas. You can press CTRL+V to paste a text into text field or click on Paste button from toolbar. I am not sure if this is new feature of Pinta 1.6, if I remember correctly it was already in Pinta 1.5 (I was using Pinta 1.6 development for several months, so that is why I don't remember).
