How about an ability to acquire an image from a scanner attached to your computer?
you should be able to access scanner from Pinta und create a new Picture, based on an scanned Image oder to insert an scanned Image into an existing Picture.
Especially needed for Linux.
Like GIMP: File-create-xsane .,.
@Grofaty It's very simple, it's not about to insert images once scanned as the "Anonymous" user said, Bishop James talked about a scan option in the file menu, that allows you to automatically scan a picture or a document put in the tray of a scanner attached to your computer, and display the image in Pinta, as you can do with Paint in Windows (using the option "Scan from"). So you open Pinta, go to "File" menu, and look for "Scan from" and you will connect with your scanner, a new window will display a little scan tool that allows you to select colour or white and black image, preview and scan, if you choose "scan" the scanner will send the document / picture in its tray to Pinta.
Why can't we acquire an image from a scanner attached to our computer? Like Paint.net, like GIMP...... like so many others?

My version it's 2.0.2 and the "File" menu has "New"; "New Screen Capture..."; "Open"; "Save"; "Save As..." "Close" and "Exit", doesn't have "Scan from"
I think the previous commenter was just making a suggestion for how it would work. Pinta does not have support for scanners, so you should use other software on your system to scan into a jpg / png / etc and then open it in the image editor

I don't understand this idea. You should always write some description to make it possible others to know what you mean.
